Forwarding
You can also rely on Distrilog Group for container transport that aligns with storage or distribution.
Services
Container transport is treated by Distrilog Group as a full part of the 'forwarding - traction - warehousing - distribution' chain. With some 133 container chassis, we can pick up containers at a port or inland harbour and transport them to one of our logistics centres. You can also entrust Distrilog Group with the loading and unloading of containers, a job that requires the necessary attention and expertise so that your port quays are cleared quickly.
Our transport experts have a real-time communication tool and indispensable local expertise. They also take all the documentation off your hands. We have certain advantages in international trade thanks to our AEO certificate for customs simplification and security. For example, we meet a number of security criteria. This mean that we are less strictly controlled when trading across borders, which reduces delays at those borders.

Inland terminals
Distrilog Group is strongly committed to multimodal transport as part of its strategy to develop sustainable logistics and efficient goods flows. By combining different modes of transport, it reduces its carbon footprint and the number of lorries on the road.
Key aspects of multimodal transport solutions via Distrilog
- Modal shift: Distrilog makes extensive use of inland waterway transport. By 2025, no less than 85% of the more than 20,000 containers were delivered via multimodal transport.
- Location advantage: thanks to sites near major waterways and terminals (such as the inland container terminal in Willebroek or Kluizendok in the Port of Ghent), Distrilog can switch seamlessly between water and road.
- Sustainability: multimodality helps avoid traffic congestion and roadworks, whilst simultaneously contributing to the Lean and Green ambitions.
- For transport to and from the terminals, Distrilog also uses electric trucks
Why does Distrilog opt for multimodal transport?
- CO2-reduction: less road transport means lower emissions per unit transported.
- Reliability: shipping is less affected by the increasing congestion on the Belgian road network.
- Scalability: large volumes can be moved more efficiently by water to central storage locations.
