TL Hub Business Game: A Look Back

26-04-2022

The TL Hub Business Game finals were finally held on Wednesday, 23 March 2022, after several postponements due to the well-known coronavirus.

No fewer than sixteen teams submitted their solutions for a case on optimising warehouse processes using new technologies. Five teams made it to the finals and were invited to Distrilog’s headquarters in Willebroek. This included two teams from Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen (HOWEST), a delegation from Haute École de Louvain and Hainaut (HELHA), and one from Haute École Charlemagne (HECH). Unfortunately, the team from Thomas More University College had to pass on the event.

The four teams had half an hour to present their proposals and answer the jury’s questions. The quality and thoroughness of the research were decisive for the jury, which comprised Roel Vanmaele, Marc Keymeulen, Benjamin Van Ransbeeck, and Els Velghe. After deliberation, the HECH team won this TL Hub Business Game unanimously.

Marvin Cillis, Juliette Dessart, Jihane Hidara, and Ousama Jebbour Katai of team HECH went home with the win. Instructor Estelle Debie looked on proudly while COO Roel Vanmaele handed them their trophy.

After the awards ceremony, students and teachers were able to get to know Distrilog and the world of logistics and transport from the inside. What was on the programme? A tour of the warehouse, a drive in a lorry, an introduction to the rolling stock, and the chance to shadow one of our transport planners. So, practice was also extensively discussed in addition to theory. A successful end to an inspiring day!
