Can you introduce yourself?

I am Evelyn Van Den Abbeele. I studied commercial engineering and started as a management trainee in transport six months ago.

Can you briefly explain what you do as a Management Trainee?

During the first four months, I had the opportunity to shadow various positions. This allowed me to gain knowledge from dispatchers, planners, and customer service representatives, among others. In addition, during quieter moments, I was able to participate in optimization projects. A month ago, I started as the person responsible for Delhaize home deliveries. In this role, I can put the knowledge I have gained over the past few months into practice and take the first steps towards a management position.

Why did you decide to do a Management Traineeship at Distrilog?

During this traineeship, they invest in building a solid foundation of knowledge. I also get the chance to prove myself by successfully completing tasks and projects on my own, but my colleagues are always there to help me or steer me in the right direction. In short, the opportunities, responsibility, and guidance offered were decisive factors for me.

What is the most interesting thing you have learned so far?

The technology used for transport tracking, such as on-board computers and TAS, as well as how projects are run and how these technologies are further integrated and optimized within the company. It is also interesting to learn how to best manage a team in order to improve performance.

Why would you recommend someone else to do a traineeship at Distrilog?

In addition to the opportunities and guidance you receive, you can also indicate where your interests lie and there is the possibility to explore different departments. You will also be part of a very enthusiastic and friendly team.
