1 September: Refreshment Rolling Stock back in action
On 1 September, the refresher course for our warehouse staff started again. A large number of colleagues already successfully completed this course earlier this year. In autumn, it is now the final group of warehouse staff's turn to refresh their knowledge and skills relating to rolling stock.
Safety and Knowledge at the centre of attention
The refresher course is an initiative of our prevention department, which attaches great importance to safety and continuous development. This training course focuses entirely on working safely and efficiently with rolling stock, such as electric pallet trucks and forklift trucks. Extra attention is also paid to hygiene rules and the handling of food products – an important aspect within our sector.
Theory and Practice
A training day always begins with a brief introduction and presentation, in which the necessary safety measures and procedures are explained once again. Protocols for first aid in the event of accidents are also discussed, so that every employee knows exactly how to respond in the event of an incident.
This is followed by the practical part. Wearing safety shoes and fluorescent vests, the participants enter the warehouse. On a marked-out course, they practise their skills with rolling stock, under the supervision of experienced trainers. The focus is on accuracy, safe manoeuvring and efficiency. Colleagues give each other tips, and with the support of the trainers, confidence and skill grow noticeably during the exercises.
More than a Refreshment
In addition to reviewing practical and theoretical knowledge, there is also time to go over other useful information. Topics such as the EMPROVA leave planner and internal activities of the Distrilog party committee are discussed. The day ends with a nice souvenir: a Distrilog windbreaker as a token of appreciation for the participants' efforts.
Impact for the whole team
In 2024 and the first part of 2025, more than 600 warehouse staff have already completed the refresher course. With the last part of the group taking action this autumn, we are once again taking an important step towards a safer, more productive and more pleasant working environment.
