How our multimodal european transportation solution
can increase both your profitability and service levels
Just like you, we are always looking to make optimal use of different transport modes, in order to combine minimum environmental impact with maximum economic return. This desire is also the reason why we use alternative modes instead of the road for over 1,000 shipments per year.
In 2015, we imported about 4,600 tonnes of cava and wines from Spain by train. We consolidate the different carriers in a central point, in order to deliver full trucks to the F1 DCs. To do so, we work towards the desired delivery date and align the mode with the applicable lead times.
In addition to rail, short sea is a popular alternative, which we use to import over 4,000 tonnes of packaged foods originating in Italy every year. We receive all these containers via TCT Willebroek, with a direct connection to our warehouse and distribution network.
The environmental benefits are undisputed, but are far from the only benefits. The use of short sea and rail are more accessible than road cargo in terms of compensating for challenges with regard to loading level, weight and kilometre-based toll charges. At the end of the line, multimodal transportation also ensures that long-distance transport can make a positive contribution to your supply chain.
